What does hypnotherapy / hypnosis feel like?
It feels thoroughly relaxing and comfortable.
How much will I recall when I wake up from hypnotherapy?
Most people will remember everything that went on when they were in hypnotherapy. However, if you go into a very deep state there is a chance you wont recall some things.
Can hypnotherapy help me?
Everyone is susceptible to some level of clinical hypnotherapy, but a willingness to make a change or confront an issue from the outset is important. Hypnotherapy can help with most emotional problems and it has been proven to help with physical problems such an IBS and insomnia. I feel nervous about hypnotherapy....
There is no reason to feel nervous about hypnotherapy; it is a very relaxing experience. However, I understand if you are apprehensive about hypnotherapy and I would suggest speaking to me to discuss your concerns.
What are your opening hours of Edinburgh Hypnosis?
Monday to Thursday 9am – 9pm.
​Friday and Saturday 10am – 4pm.
Is there parking available at your Edinburgh clinic?
There is metered parking outside my Edinburgh clinic and each appointment will last around an hour. However, the initial consultation will last around one hour and 30 minutes.
Will I lose control under hypnotherapy?
No, you will always be in control under hypnotherapy.
Can the hypnotherapist make me do things against my will?
No. You will always remain in control throughout hypnotherapy.
What will happen at the first session of hypnotherapy?
We will start by going through a detailed initial consultation and I will answer any questions you have about hypnotherapy. At the end of the first session, you will be given a copy of my hypnotherapy deep relaxation CD and an eye mask, and we will arrange a second session. This will comprise, a short consultation and a hypnotherapy session.
How many hypnotherapy sessions will I require?
It is difficult to say without taking a detailed history, but at the initial consultation I will try to give you an estimate of how many sessions are likely to be required. Thereafter, a programme of hypnotherapy sessions will be designed just for you.
Can I move under hypnotherapy? Like scratch my face or stretch?
Of course. You’re in control and are free to move as much or little as you choose to during hypnotherapy.
A rough outline of how it will work is below:
30 minutes – Initial Consultation.
3 hours – Test.
2 Hours – Feedback.
1 hour and 30 minutes – For other tests and discussion.
